Sino-EU Doctoral Summer School

For Logistics, Information, Management, and Service Science

Introduciton of school

The summer school of Sino-EU Doctoral School for Logistics, Information, Management and Service Sciences is one of series activities of Sino-EU Doctoral School for Logistics, Information, Management and Service Sciences between Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) in China and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya BarcelonaTech (UPC) in Spain to promote discipline integration and innovate doctoral training in engineering, with the advantages of both BJTU and UPC in relative fields.

Sino-EU Engineering Education Platform (SEEEP) was created in September 2010, when the Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in Engineering Education between the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the CLUSTER - Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research was signed. SEEEP aims at jointly facing challenges and opportunities and fostering leading international talents in science, technology, and engineering. Sino-EU Doctoral School for Sustainability Engineering (SESE) launched by SEEEP is to put together institutions from both China and the EU to jointly address a common research agenda and design activities where both students, researchers and staff could meet, cooperate and work together. Sino-EU Doctoral School for Logistics, Information, Management and Service Sciences between BJTU and UPC was officially approved by SEEEP after a strict evolution and election process at 5th SEEEP Workshop, Xi’an 19th September, 2014.

At present, BJTU and UPC are conducting specific work of Sino-EU Doctoral School for Logistics, Information, Management and Service Sciences. They jointly undertake the research projects, host the International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Service Science (LISS) from 2015, innovate doctoral training, and promote exchanges and visits among teachers.

To promote discipline integration and innovate doctoral training in engineering, with the advantages of both BJTU and UPC in fields of logistics and management science, the International Center for Informatics Research (ICIR) at BJTU hosts the first summer school of Sino-EU Doctoral School for Logistics, Information, Management and Service Sciences.

The doctoral summer school is open to current PhD candidates. If you are interested in participating in Summer School, please contact email at sqxx_icir@bjtu.edu.cn or through telephone (086)010-051687071.
