LISS2020 and IEIS2020 International Conference were Successfully Held by ICIR
During July 26-27, 2020, approved by the Ministry of Education, the "10th International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Service Science (LISS2020)" and the"7th International Conference on Industrial Economics Systems and Industrial Security Engineering (IEIS2020) " were held successively by Beijing Jiaotong University International Center for Informatics Research (ICIR), Beijing Jiaotong University National Academy for Economic Security (NAES), School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University and sponsored by Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary. Influenced by the global epidemic, instead of being held in Budapest, Hungary, and China in Beijing, the conference was held utilizing an online video conference. The conference was supported by IEEE SMC, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Wang Kuancheng Education Fund, Sino-EU doctoral school for Sustainability Engineering, Beijing Logistics and Informatics Research Base, Beijing Key Laboratory of Logistics Management and Technology, and Beijing Industrial Safety Research Base.
The opening ceremony of the conference was held on July 26 at 8:00 p.m. of Beijing time via online video conference. Professor Guan Zhongliang, general-co chair, vice president of Beijing Jiaotong University, attended the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, on behalf of the organizer, Vice President Professor Guan Zhongliang extended welcome to the guests, experts, and scholars who attended the meeting, introduced the history and vision of Beijing Jiaotong University and wished the conference a complete success. On behalf of the sponsor, Professor Gábor Bohács welcomed the experts and scholars and introduced the development, construction, and talent training of relevant disciplines of Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary. Professor Zhang Runtong, a member of ICIR and one of the chairmen of the conference, on behalf of the organizing committee, made a report on the background and organization of the two conferences. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Hua Guowei, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management and International Center for Informatics Research.

6 well-known scholars in related fields such as logistics, informatics, service science, and industrial security were invited to the conference to make keynote speeches. Professor Sabah Mohammed from Lakehead University in Canada gave a report titled "Securing Internet of Medical Things", proposing the concept of Medical Internet of Things and explaining key technologies; Professor Martin Dresner from the University of Maryland, College Park in the U.S. made a report titled "Pre-Hurricane Consumer Stockpiling" and Post-Hurricane Product Availability: Empirical Evidence from Natural Experiments", which was against the background of hurricane disasters to study the supply and demand changes of material storage before and after emergencies; IEEE Fellow and Professor Mengchu Zhou from the New Jersey Institute of Technology gave the report titled "Intelligent Task Prediction and Scheduling for Greener Cloud Computing Services", putting forward the use of intelligent optimization and machine learning methods for green cloud computing services, with the actual geographical distribution, to study the dynamic scheduling of tasks and the dynamic allocation of resources; IEEE Fellow, University of Macau CL Professor Philip Chen’s report was titled "Multi-modal Emotion Analysis and its Applications", and conducted in-depth discussions on multi-modal emotion analysis technology and application scenarios in the field of artificial intelligence; IEEE Fellow and Professor Taka Wu Sam Kwong, City University of Hong Kong made the report titled "Intelligent Video Coding by Data-driven Techniques and Learning Models", who put forward a method based on machine learning and game theory to realize the optimization of video data coding; Professor Francisco Saldanha da Gama from the University of Lisbon made a report titled "A Modeling Framework for Territory Design under Stochastic Demand" report, which proposed a two-stage mixed integer stochastic programming model for the random partition problem, so as to minimize the expected cost.
The conference conducted 11 group paper presentations through online video conference from July 26th to 27th were conducted. The keynote speeches and conference papers in related fields have aroused widespread interest and strong response from the participating scholars.
LISS2020 and IEIS2020 received a total of 377 academic papers from 10 countries and regions around the world, 143 papers of them were accepted. The proceedings of the two conferences were supported and published by Springer Nature (Springer Press) and submitted to the CPCI-S and EI databases.
In response to the application of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and approved by the Organizing Committee of the Conference, the 11th LISS sessions and the 8th IEIS sessions will be arranged again in July 2021 by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary.

The LISS conference was jointly initiated by Beijing Jiaotong University ICIR, the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of California, Berkeley in the United States. It aims to gather experts, scholars, and industry professionals in logistics, informatics, service science, and other related fields to discuss academic issues, grasp future development opportunities and discipline development trends and exchange the latest research results and academic ideas. The IEIS conference was jointly launched and founded by Beijing Jiaotong University CCISR, Beijing Jiaotong University ICIR, and University of California, Berkeley. It is designed to get experts, scholars and business people from all over the world together to study and discuss the academic issues in the field of industrial economy and security based on the national strategic needs and academic frontiers in the fields of industrial economy and security through scientific ideas, methods and technologies and support the scientific resolution to major issues in the national economy, social development and economic security of various countries.
Each conference was approved by the Ministry of Education and was successfully held with the support and help of the leaders of Beijing Jiaotong University, relevant authorities, and leaders and teachers of the School of Economics and Management. Up to now, LISS conference has been held successively 9 times in a row at Beijing Jiaotong University in China, University of Reading in the UK, the University of Reading in the U.K, the University of California, Berkeley in the U.S, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain, the University of Sydney in Australia, the Kyoto University in Japan, and the University of Toronto in Canada and the University of Maryland, College Park in the U.S. And IEIS conference has been successfully held for 6 times in a raw in the University of Reading in the U.K, the University of California, Berkeley in the U.S, Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain, the University of Sydney in Australia, the Kyoto University in Japan, and the University of Toronto in Canada and the University of Maryland, College Park in the U.S. These two international conferences, LISS and IEIS, have now become internationally renowned academic conferences in the fields of logistics informatics and industrial security, with extensive academic influence.
