Huang Youfang, born in 1959, is Ph.D, professor, doctoral tutor and President of Shanghai Maritime University. He obtained bachelor degree and master degree respectively in 1982 and 1989, and doctoral degree in 1998. He has taught at Shanghai Maritime University from 1989, and he joined the EMBA program at Texas University, USA, in 2002. Now he is the Chief editor of Journal of Shanghai Maritime University, Director of Container supply chain technology and engineering research center of the Ministry of Education, Director of Shanghai Maritime University Academic Committee and Academic Degrees Committee, Chairman of Logistics Teaching Guiding Committee of Chinese Ministry of Education, Director of Shanghai Shipping Logistics Information Technology Engineering Research Center, Vice president of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, Vice president of China Logistics Society, Chairman of Northeast Asia Logistics Institute Academic Committee, Special international consultant of UNCTAD/WTO International Trade Center(ITC), Director of ITC procurement and Supply Chain Management International Council, Executive director of China Association of Ports, Vice director of the sodality of Shanghai ShuGuang scholars, etc.
He has received a number of municipal and national awards, including the Second Prize of the Shanghai Excellent Invention in 1996, First Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2003, Second Prize of the National Science Advancement Award in 2004, Special government allowances of the State Council in 2004, First prize of the National Workers’ Technological Innovation Award in 2004, Jin Mao award of National Committee of the Chinese seamen & Construction Workers’ Union in 2005, First prize of Federation of Logistics & Purchasing in 2006, the first Honor of “China Experts with Outstanding Contributions to Logistics” in 2006, the Shanghai outstanding academic leader and the Honor of “People with Outstanding Contributions to China’s 30-year Reform and Opening-up in Logistics Industries” in 2008, First Prize of P. G. LOGISTICS held by China Federation of Logistics &Purchasing and China GuangHua Foundation in 2009, and the title of “Top Ten Figures in China Logistics” by CHINA LOGISTICS in 2010.
