2010年9月，中方18所大学与欧洲“理工大学教育研究联盟”（CLUSTER）的12所高校在中国上海举行了“第一届中欧工程教育研讨会”，中欧双方签署了《中华人民共和国教育部与欧洲“理工大学教育研究联盟”关于中欧工程教育合作的谅解备忘录》，共同成立了“中欧工程教育联盟”（Sino-Europe Engineering Education Platform，简称SEEEP），并探讨了“在全球化背景下，如何更新工程教育观念，改革工程教学模式，扩大社会合作”这一主题。
中欧工程教育联盟目前由中方18所高校和欧方12所高校组成，旨在推动中欧工程类院校在各学历层次工程人才联合培养、教师培训、教材开发、科学研究等方面开展广泛深入合作，共同致力于高素质高级工程人才的培养，并促进中欧工程教育专业互认。
中方18所高校：同济大学、哈尔滨工业大学、天津大学、清华大学、西安交通大学、大连理工大学、华中科技大学、东南大学、浙江大学、上海交通大学、华南理工大学、北京科技大学、北京交通大学、中国石油大学、中国矿业大学、北京邮电大学、华东理工大学、四川大学。
欧洲12所高校：瑞典皇家工学院、芬兰阿尔托大学、瑞士洛桑高工、德国卡尔斯鲁尔大学、德国达姆斯达特理工大学、荷兰爱英特霍芬理工学院、比利时鲁汶大学、爱尔兰都柏林圣三一大学、西班牙加泰罗尼亚理工大学、葡萄牙里斯本理工大学、格勒诺布尔国立综合理工学院、意大利都灵理工大学。
In September 2010, 18 universities in China and 12 universities in the European University of Engineering Education and Research Alliance (CLUSTER, the Consortium of Leading Universities of Science and Technology) held the First Sino-EU Workshop on Engineering Education in Shanghai. The Memorandum of Understanding on Sino-European Engineering Education Cooperation between the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the European University of Engineering Education and Research Alliance (CLUSTER) was signed, and the Sino-European Engineering Education Platform (SEEEP) was established. The two sides also discussed how to update the concept of engineering education, reform engineering teaching modes, and expand social cooperation under globalization.
Sino-EU Engineering Education Alliance consists of 18 universities in China and 12 universities in Europe, and aims to promote cooperation on joint training, teacher training, materials development, scientific research engineering, and in furthering the mutual recognition of Sino-EU Engineering Education.

Leuven - Université catholique de Louvain, Trinity College Dublin, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya BarcelonaTech, Instituto Superior Técnico Lisabon, Grenoble INP-UGA, Politecnico di Torino. With the addition of Esade Business School, Spain.
